Playbook

Purpose: Engineer Play into Playbook.

  1. Values — choose which value creation is worth enabling and which agency must be protected.
  2. Beliefs — state what you believe will enable it, with evidence and a falsifier.
  3. Control — route resources, retain judgement, and learn from consequences.
  4. Journeys — apply the system to starting something new or reimagining what exists.

This is a recommended route, not a prerequisite chain. Enter at the first unresolved question, then keep the next transition visible.

The Spine

Value stream mapping is a critical skill for everyone. It makes the path from what we value to what we create together visible, so players can appreciate contribution and improve the flow.

Inside-Out Storyselling makes that inside-out value visible to others as an owner-led journey from field reality to appreciated proof.

  1. Name the desire → Purpose — picture a future worth helping create.
  2. Choose the quest → Problems — find a worthy gap instead of inheriting someone else's frame.
  3. Make it playable → Games — turn the challenge into voluntary practice with feedback and room to improve.
  4. Build the bridge → Plans — commit the smallest path from desire to changed reality.
  5. Read the proof → Performance — measure what changed and let the result shape the next desire.
  6. Retain the lesson → Evolution — let reality improve the story, question, capability, and baseline for the next cycle.

Questions

Changes my mind: Evidence that desire-first routing does not help readers choose or begin.

  • Can you name the desire in one sentence?
  • Which play can leave proof soonest?

Next question: What do you want to move, and which play will leave the first proof?
