Secure a required supply input

Candidate teaching projection; contextual recipe unproved. The JTBD Ledger keeps this route as a gap until a contextual owner accepts the method and retains decision evidence.

Workflow family: Procure-to-Pay & Supply.

Outcome

The delivery owner receives a verified commitment for the required quantity, quality, time, landed cost, and fallback—or an explicit constraint before making the customer promise.

Use When

Trigger this job when an external or internal input could block delivery. The supply owner retains supplier selection, spend, contract, substitution, risk, and stop authority.

Inputs

Bring the delivery requirement, specification and acceptance test, quantity, need-by date, approved budget, candidate source, lead time, dependencies, permitted alternatives, and evidence source.

Recipe

  1. Translate the delivery promise into an exact input and acceptance condition.
  2. Confirm source, availability, lead time, total cost, and material conditions.
  3. Test the commitment against the need-by date and protected constraints.
  4. Record the primary source, approved fallback, decision owner, and review date.
  5. Hand only a verified commitment or explicit constraint to delivery.

Human and AI Control

An assistant may compare supplied quotes and expose conflicts. It may not place an order, select a supplier, approve spend, substitute an input, or accept risk. Stop for stale availability, unmatched specifications, unclear landed cost, unapproved terms, or no recovery path.

Output and Handoff

Return the accepted input specification, source, quantity, cost, availability, conditions, fallback, owner, and verification time. Hand a confirmed input to deliver promised work; return a constraint to the promise owner before commitment.

Evidence and Stop

Retain the requirement, source evidence, quote or commitment revision, approval, and later receipt or exception. Compare promised with received time, cost, and quality. Stop when any material condition is unknown or inconsistent. A quote does not prove receipt, fitness, or customer value.

Next

Correct the specification, source, lead-time assumption, or fallback after an exception. Return supplier evidence to the supply owner and delivery consequences to the delivery method.
