Principles
What truths constrain us?
The Job
When someone has too many priorities and no way to see which ones connect, help them compress their world into five things that matter — so the gaps become visible and the next move becomes obvious.
| Trigger Event | Current Failure | Desired Progress |
|---|---|---|
| New quarter, new venture, life transition | Write a plan, file it, forget it | Fill 25 cells, see gaps, return weekly to update |
| Strategy offsite produces 40 actions | Clarity evaporates in 48 hours | One page captures the compression, persists, evolves |
| Preparing a pitch | Freeze a moment in slides | Living deck that compounds — pitch gets sharper each pass |
The job: "I need to see what I know, what I don't know, and where to focus next."
The hidden objection: "What if I pick the wrong five things?" The grid answers that — wrong picks surface fast because the rows won't fill. The instrument corrects itself.
Why This, Why Now
The prototype exists. Five interaction patterns explored in CDD. The mental model site IS the filled grid at portfolio scale — 1,200+ pages structured on the same 5P pattern. What's missing: persistence, user accounts, the bridge from exploration to product.
The Convergence
Three forces converge:
- AI makes compression possible — an agent can help fill cells, suggest questions for gaps, coach through the five dimensions
- Static pitch decks are dying — investors, teams, and founders want living instruments, not frozen PDFs
- The pattern is proven — every industry analysis, venture scorecard, and PRD on this site is an instance of the same 5x5 grid
The Prompt Deck is where selling meets systems thinking. The first sale is always to yourself (Pep Talk). The second is to others (Pitch). Same instrument, different mode.
