The Way

How do you play a game you can never finish?

Flow of Progress

Not what game to play — that's circumstance. How to play any game. The approach that compounds regardless of the board.

Four Moves

MoveQuestionWhat It Gives You
JourneyWhere am I in the arc?Orientation — know which phase demands what
FlowAm I aligned right now?State — intention + attention producing effortless action
VVFLIs this loop virtuous?Mechanism — validated progress that compounds
FractalDoes this hold at every scale?Pattern — self, team, org, ecosystem running the same loop

The journey tells you where. Flow tells you when it's working. The VVFL tells you why it compounds. The fractal tells you it's the same game at every scale.

The Sequence

ORIENT (Journey) → Where am I? What phase is this?

ALIGN (Flow) → Is intention meeting attention?

CLOSE (VVFL) → Am I measuring? Is the loop validated AND virtuous?

ZOOM (Fractal) → Does this pattern hold one level up? One level down?

REPEAT → Better question. Higher baseline. Same loop.

Orient before you align. Align before you close. Close before you zoom. Each cycle starts from a higher baseline than the last.

The Test

If you skip...You get...
JourneyAction without context — solving the wrong problem
FlowEffort without alignment — grinding, not playing
VVFLActivity without measurement — motion, not progress
FractalLocal wins, systemic drift — optimizing a part while the whole decays
