Intent Token Valuation

Trends

Intents make the complex stuff easier and open entirely new efficiencies through trustlessly coordinating multiple parties in a single transaction.

Cross-Chain Intent Framework: Most intent-based protocols start with an intent-discovery system where users broadcast the things that they want to achieve. These discovery venues could be considered mempools - waiting areas for yet-to-be-processed transactions.

Value Proposition

Exchange of value across chains to fulfill intentions most effectively in a verified web of trust when 1000s of blockchains are created facilitated by projects eigenlayer.xyz and RaaS

Intent-based aggregation architectures aim to simplify decentralized trading by allowing users to express their desired trade outcomes intents rather than specifying all transaction details. Third-party "solvers" then compete to optimally execute these intents across different liquidity sources and chains, potentially providing better pricing, reduced gas fees, and MEV protection for users.

However, this intent model that abstracts away execution complexities also introduces risks around centralization of order flow, overreliance on trusted solver middlemen, lack of transparency in how intents are fulfilled, and potential loss of user control. Achieving the right balance between solver efficiency and preserving key blockchain principles like decentralization and transparency remains an open challenge.

While extremely promising for improving DeFi usability, the growing adoption of intent-based architectures requires careful system design to mitigate centralization risks, avoid opaque middlemen extracting rents, and maintain transparency in intent execution. General-purpose, permissionless solutions that avoid complete reliance on trusted parties may be ideal, but will require overcoming technical hurdles.
